Moriah Doucette and Matthew Wolfe as the people behind Doucette and Wolfe Furniture Makers, a small two-person custom furniture shop in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Most of the furniture that they make is inspired by, or is a reproduction of, an early American style.
Among the style they enjoy most are William and Mary, Queen Anne, Chippendale, Hepplewhite, Sheraton, and Shaker. All of their furniture is made using traditional techniques and joinery.
Starting with the scaled drawings through the hand-rubbed finishes, every aspect of the furniture they build is done entirely by them in their shop. They claim to being very selective when it comes to the various woods that are used in each piece. From beautiful wide cherry, walnut, and mahogany to highly figured tiger maple, color and grain are carefully matched.
"We have a great passion for building furniture and working closely with customers to create that perfect piece of furniture for their home," they note.
