Eileen Hook has been a re-enactor since 1980, primarily in pre-Gold Rush California events. She makes all of her own period-appropriate clothing from materials appropriate to the time period portrayed. Natural materials such as beeswax, lavender, linen, cotton, silk, and wool are her favorite things.
Her decades of re-enacting experience give her a hands-on, from the inside out, realistic view of what it takes to present an 18th- or 19th-Century persona to fellow re-enactors and the public.
Many events listed on our calendar have been postponed or cancelled as a precaution to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, now a pandemic. If you must (or choose) to attend an event, we suggest you call and verify that it will be taking place as planned.
