Glass

Glass is all-too-familiar in the modern world where machines have taken over the work of hands and lungs. In early America, nearly all glass was blown—with much patience and skill. Artisans pride themselves in the beautiful shapes that can coax from molten glass to make objects both decorative and useful. Glassmaking was one of the first arts brought to America, documented in the first British colony of Jamestown.
