Award Winning Photography

We are delighted to announce that Early American Life and contributing photographer Winfield Ross won the 2008 Best Print Photography or Layout award in West Virginia's Stars of the Industry program. Governor Joe Machin III presented the award for the story "Twenty Tulip Trees," which told about Dick and Martha Hartley's hand-hewn log cabin in our December 2007 issue. Winners were selected by a jury of media professionals. The award, a hand-blown glass vase by a West Virginia artist, is shown here.
