The Real Benjamin Franklin |
 The Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary,
a consortium created in 2000 by the American Philosophical Society, The Franklin Institute, the Library
Company of Philadelphia, the
Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the University of Pennsylvania, coordinated the various exhibitions
and celebrations for Franklin’s 300th birthday. The principal exhibition of
the tercentenary, "Benjamin Franklin: In Search of a Better World," debuted
in Philadelphia and traveled to St. Louis, Houston, Denver, Atlanta, and
Paris, ending in 2008. In addition, the member organizations in the tercentenary
each had their own events in the yearlong celebration.
