The Exhibition:
The
Benjamin Franklin Tercentenary,
a consortium created in 2000 by the American Philosophical Society, The Franklin Institute, the Library
Company of Philadelphia, the
Philadelphia Museum of Art, and the University of Pennsylvania, is coordinating the various exhibitions
and celebrations for Franklin’s 300th birthday. The principal exhibition of
the tercentenary, Benjamin Franklin: In Search of a Better World, debuts
in Philadelphia and travels to St. Louis, Houston, Denver, Atlanta, and
Paris through 2008. In addition, the member organizations in the tercentenary
each have their own events in the yearlong celebration. You will fi nd many of them listed in the Early
