Angela Hillstrom has been Olde Raggs U.S.A.for the past 10 years. Her life has revolved around Art in many forms and she has studied illustration, design, water color, painting in oil and life drawing. She has always loved to sew and has always been drawn to American History, especially the 19th Century—the Civil War, Slavery and the woman Artists of that era—many unknown, but their endeavors are a great part of our American Heritage.
Hillstrom's heart and soul is in every piece of work that comes from her hands, be it the sewing needs, the dolls of the naive or the accomplished seamstress, an animal stitched for a child, a gift stitched for a mother or sister. These are her thoughts as she works with the cloth of that era, be it a very cherished scrap or part of some long-ago and forgotten tattered piece of clothing. Hillstrom also works at reproducing early dolls and animals but only as her impression, with all due respect to the original maker. Hillstrom is extremely honored to be chosen several times for The Directory of Traditional American Crafts.
The entry deadline for the 2023 Directory of
Traditional American Crafts has passed. We are now processing entries and submitting
them to our jurors. We will contract entrants after the jurors have made ther decisions.
